Washington, D.C. – Today, Rep. Stephen Fincher (R-Frog Jump), voted in support of the Student Success Act, H.R.5. The bill will restore local control, support effective teachers, reduce the federal footprint and empower parents when it comes to their children’s education.
“A one size fits all education policy isn’t working for West Tennessee, and it isn’t working for America,” said Congressman Fincher. “After all, there’s no one in Washington who understands more about a child’s needs than their parents. No one who understands what the educational needs are in West Tennessee, the way West Tennessee families and teachers do.”
“For the first time in over a decade, the House has passed a bill that will put an end to the Obama Administration’s overreach into our West Tennessee classrooms and empower our communities to fix our broken education system.”
“The Student Success Act will tear down the bureaucratic red tape that has done little to improve student performance and allow our state and local school districts the freedom and flexibility to think bigger, innovate and do all that is necessary to help students perform.”
