Washington, D.C. – Congressman Stephen Fincher (R-Frog Jump) issued the follow issued the following statement on his vote for The Path to Prosperity, a budget for Fiscal Year 2014:

“Today I cast a vote to help set our country back on track to a path of fiscal responsibility,” said Congressman Fincher. “This budget reduces spending and eliminates barriers to economic growth. It puts in place policies that create an environment that fosters long term economic growth, resulting in getting more Americans back to work.”

“In contrast, we saw the liberal Senate majority put forth a budget last week for the first time since 2009 that spends too much, taxes too much, and borrows too much – stifling job growth today and leaving our children with a fewer opportunities in the future. This sort of fiscal abuse is out of touch with the millions of American families and individuals tightening their belts to make ends meet. There’s no reason that Congress should not make the same efforts and sacrifices to function within its means. Today’s budget will do just that.”
