A Guide To Receiving Aid In The Aftermath Of The Recent Floods In West Tennessee

 

Over the past several weeks, Tennessee has fallen victim to severe storms, flooding and tornadoes.  As Tennesseans enter the process and rebuilding and recovery, below is information on some of the federal aid that has been made available to those affected.    

 

President Obama has issued major disaster declarations for many counties in West Tennessee.  Federal disaster assistance has been made available in the following counties within the 8th Congressional District: Benton, Crockett, Dickson, Dyer, Gibson, Houston, Humphreys, Lake, Lauderdale, Madison, Montgomery, Obion,Shelby, and Stewart. 

 

Those seeking individual assistance should contact FEMA at 1-800-621-FEMA or apply online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov.

 

  • Individual Assistance can include temporary housing assistance for eligible applicants such as rental assistance and repair assistance. 

 

The USDA Farm Service Agency is offering assistance to affect farmers and ranchers.  Please visit www.fsa.usda.gov; to see if you qualify.
