Fincher Statement On The 10th Anniversary Of The Terrorist Attacks Of 9/11

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representative Stephen Fincher (R-Frog Jump) issued the following statement regarding the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001:

“On September 11, 2001, thousands of innocent Americans lost their lives as terrorists who sought to take our freedom and eliminate democracy launched the largest attack on American soil.  There are no words to justify this senseless act of evil.  This week, we honor all of those who lost so much on this tragic day.   My thoughts and prayers go out to all the families who lost their loved ones on this horrific day.

“On the 10th Anniversary, it is important to remember the way that America came together after this tragic day and together, with one voice, rejected the evil of those who wished to do us harm, and vowed to rebuild stronger than before.  The years since 9/11 have shown the world that good will always defeat evil, we will not sacrifice our values and ideals against the threat of violence, and we remain the most exceptional nation in the world.

“As we reflect on this tragic day and honor those who lost their lives, it is important to also remember those who continue to serve our country overseas in an effort to ensure that this sort of tragedy never happens again.   Our brave men and women in uniform have sacrificed so much to defend our freedom and keep our nation safe.  We owe them a great debt of gratitude.

“On the 10th anniversary of 9/11, we must remember that our freedom and republic are our most precious resources.   If we stay united as a nation, we can continue to protect these ideals for generations to come.”
